Privacy Policy

01 Information we process

Photos you capture or select not stored
When you scan an item, the photo is sent to our backend for AI-powered identification. Photos are processed in transit — passed to the AI provider, the result is returned to you, and the image is discarded immediately.
Country location (approximate)
We detect your country from your IP address via Cloudflare's geolocation header to localise shopping results. We do not collect precise location, GPS coordinates, or street-level data.
Device advertising ID
The Google AdMob SDK collects your device's advertising ID to serve relevant ads. You can reset or disable this in your device settings under Privacy → Ads.
Subscription status
If you purchase Premium, your subscription state is stored locally on your device using Android's standard preferences API. Apple/Google handle billing; we do not see your payment information.
Daily usage counts
The app stores how many scans you've performed today — locally on your device only — to enforce free-tier limits. This data never leaves your phone.

02 Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate Prixel. When we send your photo to Google Gemini, Google processes it according to their own privacy policy. We do not store the photo on our servers.

03 Permissions we request

04 Data retention

We do not maintain user accounts or persistent records of your scans. Photos are processed in real time and discarded immediately after the AI returns a result.

Subscription state and daily scan counters are stored locally on your device only. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.

05 Children's privacy

Prixel is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used Prixel, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

06 Your rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA)

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Brazil, or California, you have the right to:

For ad consent specifically, we use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). Users in the EU/UK/Brazil are shown a consent screen on first launch and can re-open it from the app's privacy options.

07 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced in the app.
